5dolls’ leader Soomi revealed her hopes of winning a rookie award at the year-end ceremonies this year through an interview with Kuki News.
She expressed, “I debuted three times already, and have yet to receive a rookie award. I was always jealous of other singers who received them.”
Soomi debuted on November of 2009 with SeeYa, but because she was a new addition to an already established group, there was no chance for her to win a rookie award. She later switched out to debut with Co-Ed as their leader, and debuted again soon after with the group’s sub-unit, 5dolls.
She continued, “First, I was added to a group of seniors, and then with a group who did not receive a rookie award. I hope to do really well this time and win a rookie award, as well as the opportunity to show our talents at year-end ceremonies. I don’t think about making mistakes on stage lately. I’m just determined to do my best and work as hard as I can.”
When asked about the disbandment of her former group, SeeYa![](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_u0rrabbqmHWD0MwyHQOwMcsGuDKYRkgNcCQjNGxIOqrq58NmW0C6fTevIQaxABmgQHxzQwcn_Fn2KipSCHpmHXff05_TpziPPOHP_nVih_1pC3opdI_eYegmKvFA4s-Q=s0-d)
, she replied, “I was upset in not being able to be with them for their last, but if our unit promotions go well, I hope to start another unit withBoram and Yeonji unni, just like with our ‘Wonder Women’ promotions.”
